Birth Options: The Woman's Choice
Ideally, our partners will support us regardless of our choice. Unfortunately that is not always the case, but ultimately women need to remember that in the end, the choice is THEIR OWN, not their baby's father nor anyone
else's.
If you are here desiring a freebirth, and are having difficulties with your partner, stand up for yourself.
This is how it is going to be. Birth is yours, not his. It is your body, not his. It is your vagina, not his. His support and presence is desired and most welcome, but if he can't pull his head out of his arse and educate himself, support you, then he needs to find himself elsewhere while you are birthing.
Do not be forced into a birth that you do not want. It is the first mistake, to be too permissive or compromising in regards to what YOU know you need for your birth.

Beliefs & Experiences
If you have had a previous pregnancy or childbirth experience, you'll need to process it prior to any following pregnancy & birth. Prior birth experiences strongly influence your expectations, beliefs and outlook of childbirth which can affect future births.
The work of processing prior births must be a honest one even though it can be hard to face up to brutal truth sometimes. Traumatic birth experiences are difficult to work through alone so if you have had one, you will benefit from our traumatic birth section.
Pregnancy and childbirth are journeys and learning is a part of moving on, increasing satisfication with your birth experiences, and discovering new heights to pregnancy and birth.

Birth Trauma Work & Recovery
Birthrape is a very real and horrifying occurence in our society. It is also more common than you may think. Birthrape is a term used by women who feel they have been violated during their births in one form or another.
Unfortunately because this sort of violation happens in a hospital, during a birth, many people accept it as something that is part of birth. No matter where you are, your body is your own and if it is violated against your will or without your consent, you have the right to do what you can about it.
Institutional birth is most commonly the main source of traumatic births in our society, but there are some traumatic home births as well, usually due to unneccessary handling and transfer by the caregivers in attendance. Sometimes true emergencies are made even more so traumatic by the attitudes of the care providers handling the emergency.
