Little Lochlan induces his own birthday... early

If all had gone to plan, little Lochlan Samuel Lea-Butler would have been born at Logan Hospital yesterday.
That's when his mother Samantha Lea was due to have doctors encourage her reluctant baby into the world after 42 weeks of pregnancy.
Instead Lochlan took matters into his own hands, deciding Sunday, September 21, was a better birth date.
Unfortunately he didn't give his mum enough time to get to the hospital or to call an ambulance, bursting onto the lounge room floor and into the arms of his aunt, Jennifer Lea.
Samantha woke with back pains about 4.15am Sunday, asking her partner Robert to phone Ms. Lea to get her to come over, unsure that her contractions had even started.
"I barely had time to phone the ambulance and get out the address before I had to throw the phone down and deliver the baby" Ms. Lea said yesterday, "Her waters didn't even break until his head was coming out. It was a very very quick delivery.... all over in two minutes"
Samantha and Lochlan were taken to Logan Hospital where both were found to be fine and they returned home. Lochlan has a sister, Elizabeth, 1.
"When Elizabeth was born in hospital in just two hours, the doctors joked that Samantha should get herself straight into the car as soon as the contractions started... We didn't think anything of it." Ms. Lea said.
She had never thought she would be called on to deliver her sister's baby, and was now seriously thinking of a midwifery course.
