Neglect	Physical harm
Inadequate supervision Inadequate basic care Abandonment Failure to protect Child is at risk of neglect following the death of a sibling in suspicious circumstances Youth homelessness	Non-accidental injury or illness Suspicious injury or illness Excessively harsh discipline Child at risk of physical harm following the death of a sibling in suspicious circumstances Exposure to domestic violence resulting in or likely to result in physical harm
Sexual abuse	Emotional harm
Sexual contact or exploitation Sexual contact or exploitation by another child Suspicious indicators consistent with abuse	Chronic rejection, criticism, scapegoating, ignoring, isolating, terrorising • Parental conditions/behaviours (other than domestic violence) have led to emotional harm • Exposure to domestic violence resulting in or likely to result in physical harm
For all harm and abuse types
unborn child likely to experience neglect or physical, sexual or emotional harm after she or he is born
