Maternity Payment & The Infamous Hospital Sticker

If you are eligible for Maternity Payment, and claim within 26 weeks of the birth, you will get it regardless of if you had an unassisted birth or not. On the form that you fill out to claim Maternity Payment, there will be a place for a hospital sticker.

All you do is fill in the birth details yourself and provide proof of birth in the form of a birth certificate. If additional proof is required, Centrelink will ask for it.

Maternity Immunisation Allowance

If you do not believe or agree with vaccination, you can still claim the Maternity Immunisation Allowance, regardless of what anyone says. Obtain a conscientous objector form from Centrelink or Medicare and take it to your doctor to sign.

Your doctor is required by law to tell you the risks of not vaccinating and to make sure that you are informed on the benefits of vaccines before he can sign the sheet. Turn it in to Centrelink along with the Maternity Immunisation form and you will receive payment.
